Mourinho: “What happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch.”

After last night’s comeback win against Salernitana, Jose Mourinho detailed an episode that took place during the game between Roma’s bench and the opponent’s.

When asked about what happened in the final moments of the match when there was a clear confrontation between one side and the other, the Special One replied, “I never hide the truth, unlike some other clubs or the police,” alluding to what took place following Roma’s first leg of the Conference League quarterfinals in Norway.

“One of the players on my bench said to Salernitana, ‘You’re going back to Serie B!‘ Which they did not like and I apologized in the kid’s name for what he’d said.”

“That’s what civilized people understand: things that happen on the pitch, stay on the pitch, and nobody’s going to be waiting around for somebody else to punch them in the face.”
