Nagelsmann raises doubts on Kluivert’s future: “We haven’t decided on him yet.”

The future of attacker Justin Kluivert remains a major question mark following comments today from RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann.

The Dutch attacker joined the German’s on loan from Roma this summer, however, he hasn’t made the impact that many, including Nagelsmann, hoped for.

When asked as to whether or not Leipzig wanted to keep Kluivert at the club beyond this season, Nagelsmann stated no decision has been made.

“We’ll decide in the second half of the season (on Kluivert),” the German technician said today during his pre-match press conference.

“He did incredibly well against Bayern and Manchester United and was showing what we were expecting. Then he ran into injury issues and was out for awhile. He’s too injury prone, which prevents him from training.”

“His physicality needs to increase, he has the qualities that suit us against the likes of Liverpool and many Bundesliga sides. We’re hoping that he can be more decisive for us.”

The ex-Ajax man has scored only two goals this season while primarily featuring from the bench.
