Nainggolan: “We must continue down this path.”

John Solano

Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan spoke today while attending the Gran Gala of the Italian Footballers’ Association. These are his words:

The episode of De Rossi?
He is sorry, he knows he was wrong. Being born in Rome and being a Romanista since childhood, he experiences things in a different way. In the beautiful Derby a week ago, Parolo and Bastos were punished but in some instances others got away. It’s difficult to do certain things with VAR.

How is the season going?
We are going down a good path, no one has counted us as favorites. It’s important to qualify for the Champions League. There are already built teams while we have changed some things, but we’re doing fine. Napoli have only dropped 4 points, they’re going very well, we had a few missteps, but that happens. The league is long, there are other head to head clashes. We lost our best match against Inter as some things went against us, but we have to continue to work. In the Champions League, we have had an excellent journey. We could even finish first.

Is the fight for the Scudetto between three or five clubs?
I do not know, last year we came second and even that seemed impossible. Napoli-Juve will be important. Inter play one match per week and are doing well, Spalletti is a great manager. We are there, we’ll play our season and see where we arrive.

Napoli-Juventus?
Sooner or later they’ll cross each other. We have to worry about our path and stick to it. Let us first think about ourselves and then on the results of others.
