Nainggolan on his future, the Derby

John Solano

Radja Nainggolan was interviewed by Il Tempo, here are the Belgian’s words:

Your future?
They’re writing a little too much about my future. I’ve been through this many times before, at Cagliari for five years they said I was leaving and every summer and I remained. Now I’m thinking about closing the season well here and reaching our objectives. I just renewed my contract, I do not necessarily have to leave. In fact, I have shown willingness to remain.

Has Conte called for Chelsea?
I haven’t heard from anyone yet, I don’t even know if it’s true that they want me. I even read a story in the newspaper that I told my friends I’m going to Chelsea. It’s ridiculous. The truth is I can’t talk about things I don’t know about yet.

And if the call came from Juve?
I refused their proposal several times. They wanted me but I never accepted. I won’t be seen in Juve’s colors. Why? I do not want a controversy. It’s just like saying you’re not interested in a certain girl. Even before coming to Roma I thought this.

The emotion you had from the first Derby as a captain?
I will never forget it, it made me proud. I play every match to win, maybe I’m too emotional, but it is a part of me.

Better to be a captain at Roma or a “wingman” at Barcelona?
Having the arm-band or not is the same thing: the important thing is to go to war for your teammates.
