Roma continues to work on the search for a new sporting director to succeed Frederic Massara.

At the top of the Friedkins’ list is Giovanni Manna, currently director of Napoli, considered the ideal candidate to launch the Giallorossi’s new project.

In recent days, however, the search has reportedly cooled.

According to Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, Napoli have no intention of letting Manna go.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis’ position is reportedly very clear: the manager remains central to the Neapolitan club’s plans.

Not only have Napoli rejected Roma’s initial attempts, but they’re also not even considering financial compensation to release him early.

Manna, tied to Napoli by a contract until 2027, is considered a key figure for the club’s future.

De Laurentiis’s goal is to continue with the club for at least another season, respecting existing agreements.
