Speaking ahead of his team’s league clash against Torino, Napoli boss and former Roma manager Luciano Spalletti believes the Scudetto race this season could include up to eight teams.

After seven rounds, five points separates first-placed Napoli and seventh-placed Inter with Juventus sitting eighth on ten points.

“We want to fight the other seven teams all the way until the end of the campaign,” he said this afternoon.

“The top of the table is really crowded with strong opponents who play good football. We’ve adapted well and must continue because all of these other teams are very well-equipped.”

“Even the teams that have less points than most expected will recover. But all of these teams can finish high in the table but obviously it’s still too early to make concrete assessments.”
