Napoli on the verge of sacking ex-Roma manager Rudi Garcia

John Solano

Former Roma manager Rudi Garcia is on the verge of being sacked by defending champions Napoli, less than five months after being appointed to the position and replacing Luciano Spalletti.

The news comes just one day after the Partenopei suffered a shocking 1-0 home loss to lowly Empoli—marking their third defeat in Serie A so far this season.

Following yesterday’s result, Sky Sport reports club president Aurelio De Laurentiis met with the Napoli’s senior management in Rome earlier today to discuss the situation. After meeting for several hours, the group reportedly agreed it’s time to make a managerial change and dismiss Garcia, who flew to Nice this afternoon to visit family.

While no formal announcement has been made, Napoli have already opened talks with his potential replacement: former Udinese, Hellas Verona, and Marseille manager Igor Tudor.
