The President of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, denied recent links with former Roma boss Jose Mourinho.
Following the Special One’s dismissal, several Italian media reports suggested the Portuguese technician could be eyeing a move to Napoli who continue to struggle with Walter Mazzarri in charge.
However, the chairman of the Partenopei, Aurelio De Laurentiis, denied these claims, stating that Mourinho is not on Napoli’s radar.
“Mourinho has nothing to do with Napoli,” De Laurentiis told calciomercato.it.
“He was at Roma, now he’s free but I don’t know if he can go to another team, I haven’t studied the regulations.”
“Mourinho is a great coach and is very nice, impetuous, he’s someone whom you can look up to and he is Portuguese, a nationality I love. However, I believe that his future will be abroad, certainly not in Naples.”
