Napoli return on Diawara

Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Napoli seem ready to take Bologna midfielder Amadou Diawara.

Throughout the summer, Roma and Napoli have been locked in a race for the Guinean midfielder, however, it appears the club of De Laurentiis is close to completing the operation.

Napoli were hoping to first sell Marko Validifiori before bringing in Diawara, however, the club now appears ready to purchase the player regardless of Validifiori for a few of €14 million plus bonuses (although, Aston Villa have offered €17 million, the player prefers to remain in Italy).

With this news, the door now opens for Leandro Paredes likely remaining at Roma should Napoli finalise the operation for Diawara.
