Former Milan shot-stopper Gigi Donnarumma is closing in on a free a transfer switch to Paris Saint-Germain.
The 22 year-old is nearing an agreement to join the French giants after he and his agent, Mino Raiola, were unable to come to terms on a new deal with the Rossoneri.
Even though he will pen a long term deal with the club, PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino has no intention of removing Keylor Navas as the club’s first-choice shot-stopper for the upcoming season. In addition, PSG must find a buyer for returning goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who spent last season on loan at Fulham.
Because of the backlog of options, L’Equipe reports that Donnarumma could be sent out on loan for the upcoming 2021/2022 campaign to avoid being stuck on the bench.
Should this happen, one club that would be an option for the Italian is, reportedly, Roma.
The French outlet writes that the Giallorossi would be in pole position to land Donnarumma for the season given that Mourinho is keen to bring an important goalkeeper to the club this summer.
