Negotiations between Roma-Friedkin nearing successful conclusion

John Solano

RomaPress – It’s been a chaotic 48 hours inside of the negotiations between James Pallotta and Dan Friedkin due to a common objective between the parties: find an agreement for the sale of AS Roma before the new year.

The two American business tycoons have been locked-in negotiations for over a month, but we are in the last stretch and the final agreement could arrive in the coming hours. After RomaPress spoke yesterday to a member of Friedkin’s legal team, talks continued throughout the day today and the two sides have edged near an agreement. There is still a very slight difference between Friedkin’s offer and Pallotta’s asking price, but the gap is likely to be bridged in the coming hours.

Dan Friedkin is currently at his residence in Long Branch, California awaiting the final “green light” from his legal team to embark on the Italian capital. Once this arrives, he will fly to Italy to finalise his takeover of the club.

Early last week, some at Roma were pessimistic that a deal would be struck before the unofficial deadline of 31 December. However, the sides have made significant progress over the last five days as Roma CEO Guido Fienga has been at the center of the negotiations.

Roma have remained silent as to when an official announcement will arrive but a source of Friedkin’s legal team told to RomaPress late today, “It (the sale of Roma) is very close is all I can say”.

Now it’s closer than ever: Dan Friedkin is ready to takeover AS Roma.
