Nemanja Matic feels confident after playing first full 90 minutes vs Juventus

Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic sounded confident in his own capabilities as well as the team’s steady progress made in the league following a hard fought draw at the Juventus Stadium on Saturday night. Matic was interviewed by the club shortly after the final whistle.

“We struggled to get back into the game after going down in the early stages of the match,” said the 34-year-old. “In the second half we did much better, we played more aggressively and controlled the game better.”

“In the end, we brought home a good draw. It’s always difficult to get points in this stadium. We have to consider ourselves satisfied especially given that awful first half where we didn’t show what we’re capable of.”

“On a personal level, these were my first full 90 minutes in a long while. With each passing minute I felt better and grew more confident. I will certainly improve along with the rest of the team,” he added.

“We have to play better than we did in the first half today. In the second we proved that we can up against anyone.”
