Despite landing in the Italian capital only a couple of months ago, Nemanja Matic has become a pillar and a reference point in the middle of the pitch for Jose Mourinho’s team.
The Serbian midfielder has featured in all of Roma’s matches so far this season, once again proving his reliability under Jose Mourinho which was evident in their days together at Chelsea and Manchester United.
Now, the player is on his way to having his contract automatically extended for another year.
As agreed in the summer, Matic’s one-year contract will be automatically renewed for an additional season once the midfielder features in at least 50% of Roma’s games.
With only 12 more games to until the World Cup, Matic is heavily favoured to complete his contract renewal later this year, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
