Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic put in an incredible performance to help lift the Giallorossi to a home victory with Real Sociedad in tonight’s Europa League showdown.
Following the match, the veteran player discussed the team’s growth this season and Mourinho’s impact on the team’s mentality in Europe.
“We played a good game against a very strong team,” he said in a post-match interview with Sky Sport.
“It was difficult, but we played very well and defended very well. We are very happy,” he added.
“Our team has improved compared to 4/5 months ago. We have improved a lot. We won 2-0, but they play very well, we have to play just like this in the second leg.”
