Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matić is on his way to become Roma’s newest signing as he is about to move from Manchester United to the Italian capital on a free transfer.
According to the latest rumors, the 33-year-old will sign a one-year contract with an option for a second season with the Giallorossi in the next few days.
In the meantime, calciomercato.it reports that Matić has rejected several offers from European clubs.
The ex-Chelsea man rejected a proposal from newly promoted Premier League side Fulham, as well as offers from three French clubs and two clubs from Bundesliga.
More impressive is perhaps the fact that Matić rejected two offers from Turkey that were reportedly much higher than Roma’s one-year proposal.
Mourinho’s presence at the capital club influenced Matić’s choice heavily, as the two will reunite for the third time after their collaborations at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford.
