Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic brought his quality and experience in last night’s victory with Real Sociedad at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Following the match, the veteran player urged his teammates to remain focused heading into the return leg in San Sebastian.
“Real Sociedad are a great team, who play well,” Matic told Roma TV after the final whistle. “This game was very difficult, but I’m happy. We played a good game, defensively and offensively, but it’s not over yet.”
“We all played well, but this match is in the past already. We have to keep working, there’s another match in three days. We have to stay focused.”
“Our fans are the best, I’m very happy to play here. For us, they are important. Thanks for the support, we are happy with the win.”
