New contact between Roma-Belotti

Andy Mattioli

Roma are working to secure Mourinho’s main reinforcements for the upcoming campaign. The team will soon fly out to Portugal to continue preseason training. There they will reportedly be joined by Matías Viña (with Palmeiras already finding a replacement in Monaco’s Jorge) and Granit Xhaka.

However, General Manager Tiago Pinto is also working to improve the attack.

The name of Andrea Belotti, Torino’s target man, has been linked with Roma for a while now.

According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedullà, Roma have once again initiated contact with Belotti and his entourage. The club consider him an ideal solution for the attack and considering he has one year left on his contract at Torino, the Roman club were hoping for a lesser pricetag.

However, Torino do not seem intent on lowering their demands. Roma have already formulated via a number of intermediaries an offer amounting to a total of  €18 million (€15 million plus €3 million in bonuses). Urbano Cairo, Torino’s owner, does not consider any offer below the rumored €30 million.

It is worth noting that Atalanta and Sevilla have also began monitoring the Italian international.
