Rome’s pressing for Riyad Mahrez continues.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, there was contact yesterday between Monchi and Leicester with the Giallorossi reaffirming their intention to try and bring the ’91 class winger. However, there is still some distance between the two sides: on the one hand, the €30 million plus bonuses being offered by Roma while Leicester’s request is £40 million (and even £50 million for Premier league clubs) as Leicester will try to do as much as possible to keep the player.
However, Mahrez’s intention is to leave the English club after having already found an agreement with Roma regarding wages. Roma will point to this factor in trying to lower Leicester’s asking price, but it will still take an important offer.
