Roma are still interested in Santos attacker Marcos Leonardo.
However, the 20-year-old Brazilian seems to have caught the attention of several Premier League clubs over the last few months.
Following Santos’ decision to temporarily withdraw from talks for Leonardo’s outgoing transfer to Roma, Newcastle have emerged as potential suitors in the January window, reports Brazilian journalist Bruno Lima.
Roma had an agreement in place with Santos in August, but the Brazilian club decided to postpone negotiations until January.
Now, Leonardo seems to be tempted to play for a top European side.
Newcastle haven’t held talks with Santos yet, just an informal meeting with the player’s entourage a while ago.
