Nicola Zalewski recovers ahead of Salernitana clash

Andy Mattioli

Roma fullback Nicola Zalewski has reportedly recovered from an ankle issue that had sidelined him for Roma’s friendly with Shakhtar Donetsk. Zalewski had sustained an ankle sprain in the match with Tottenham in Israel.

The player has since been reintegrated with the rest of the team and yesterday regularly took part in group training activities, reports Il Messaggero.

It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will decide to start him in the season opener with Salernitana or whether he will rely on Leonardo Spinazzola.

Moreover, the Italian newspaper claims that Rick Karsdorp is favored to start ahead of Zeki Celik, with Pellegrini once again slotting in the midfield pivot with Nemanja Matic.
