Former Roma player and current Fiorentina executive Nicolas Burdisso is being linked with the sporting director vacancy at the capital club.

The retired defender is currently serving as Fiorentina’s technical director following his spell with Boca Juniors.

However, reports that Burdisso’s profile is one that appeals to Roma’s ownership.

The Giallorossi are still without a sporting director a month after Tiago Pinto left his post as the club’s General Manager.

The news portal suggests that Burdisso is now in the race with Monza’s Francois Modesto take over the sporting area of the Giallorossi.

In addition to having a great friendship with Daniele De Rossi, Burdisso is also an option admired by Charles Gould of footballing consultancy Retexo—the Friedkins’ trusted man in decisions of this type
