Former Roma player and current Fiorentina executive Nicolas Burdisso is being increasingly linked with the Giallorossi’s sporting director vacancy.

The Argentine director is said to be ready to depart Fiorentina at the end of the season and is close to Roma.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, over recent weeks Burdisso has become the favorite to land the prestigious role at the capital club given his excellent rapport with Daniele De Rossi.

With De Rossi’s confirmed long-term stay at Roma, the newspaper reports that Burdisso is now favored over Monza exec Francois Modesto.

In addition to being teammates at Roma from 2009 until 2014, Burdisso was also responsible for convincing De Rossi to join Boca Juniors in 2019.
