Former Roma man and Italy attacker Nicolo Zaniolo reflected on his departure from the Italian capital which took place exactly a year ago, when the 24-year-old joined Galatasaray.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zaniolo – who is currently on loan at Aston Villa – said this of his exit from Roma: “The love I had for Roma was gigantic, even if it ended badly. Leaving Roma was tough.”
“Apart from the episodes of the last few days, everyone with me had been fantastic, including Mourinho.”
“Regrets? At my age it doesn’t make sense to have any. I have experienced good things and bad things, I have done right things and wrong things, but Rome is also the city of my son Tommaso. For this reason alone, it will always be a special place for me.”
