Roma are once again – soon after losing Gini Wijnaldum to a fractured tibia in his right leg – dealt a huge blow in the form of Nicolò Zaniolo sustaining a painful shoulder injury in today’s win over Cremonese. The 23-year-old was forced to leave the pitch and be replaced by Stephan El Shaarawy.

The young attacker was promptly rushed to Villa Stuart where he underwent tests on the injured shoulder.

According to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, the tests revealed a dislocated left shoulder. The player will not have to undergo surgery.

Zaniolo’s condition and recovery time will be monitored daily and a timeline for his return will be established by the club’s medical staff along the way.
