Igor Zaniolo, the father of Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo, appeared on Radio Centro Suono Sport this evening and discussed his son and his recovery from a torn ACL, which he suffered in January.
“Nicolo is recovering well. He continues to train at home with the assistance of the trainers via video conference. He’s working hard and following the recovery protocol. It’s always better to be careful, but I think he should be fine by July or August”, he said.
The elder Zaniolo also went on to discuss his son’s future as there have been whispers that the Giallorossi could offer the youngster another contract renewal.
”Nicolo hasn’t requested anything: he’s got a contract until 2024. He’s doing great in Rome and hopes to continue to do so. But if Roma want to give him a wage increase, we’ll certainly sit down to discuss it but there’s nothing concrete right now. I think Roma are thinking about it so that they can tie him down and make him feel like an integral part of a big project”.
“Nicolo loves this (Roma) shirt, he loves this place (Rome) in a very visceral way”.
