There were fears Roma could be without another key name on Thursday evening when midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was substituted off in the team’s 3-0 win over Udinese.
The Dutchman came off in the 61st minute after he was seen pointing to his face while chatting with the Giallorossi’s medical staff, which prompted Jose Mourinho to substitute him off for Nemanja Matic.
Wijnaldum could be seen grasping his right eye and explaining to the team’s training staff he was having problems seeing clearly after taking a blow to the face.
However, both DAZN and Sky Sport report the veteran underwent follow-up examinations in the dressing room and no complications were discovered—quelling fears he could miss any of the team’s upcoming fixtures.
