Roma have officially announced the signing of free agent striker Andrea Belotti.

The former Torino man has signed an initial one-year contract that runs until 30 June 2023. Though, his deal also includes the option for an additional two-year extension based on certain performance-related criteria.

After spending the past seven years with the Granata, Belotti has opted to wear the number 11 shirt with the Giallorossi.

“Roma’s progress and ambition in recent times has been clear for all to see, and both elements have had a big influence on me,” Belotti told Roma’s official website.

“At this point in my career I want to continue to improve, day after day, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to do so representing this club.

“I now cannot wait to hear the club anthem at the stadium, in front of all our fans.”

Roma general manager Tiago Pinto lauded the Italian international’s strong scoring record and maintained he’ll be a vital addition to Jose Mourinho’s attack.

“Andrea is one of the most prolific forwards in Serie A and his addition further strengthens our attacking ranks,” said the Portuguese executive.

“His determination in choosing Roma has really struck a chord with all of us and today we are absolutely delighted to be able to begin this new adventure.”
