Official: Carles Pérez joins Roma

Both Roma and Barcelona have announced early this afternoon that attacker Carles Pèrez has joined the Italian side on a permanent transfer.

The Spaniard will join Roma on an initial loan deal until 30 June for a fee of €1 million. Once the loan period ends, Roma will pay €11 million for the player plus €4.5 million in bonuses — furthermore, Barcelona also retains the right of first refusal on any future sale of the player.

“I know I am leaving a great club like Barcelona, but I’m joining another great club in Rome,” the attacker said. “I’m really happy and I can’t wait to start training alongside my new teammates.”

Pèrez will sign a contract that will run until 30 June 2024 with the Giallorossi.
