Roma has announced that defender Mert Çetin has joined Hellas Verona on a season-long loan.
The Turkish defender has joined the Gialloblu for the 2020-21 season, in a temporary deal that runs until 30 June 2021.
As part of the agreement, Ivan Jurić’s side have the option to make the transfer permanent. In the event this option is exercised, Roma also possess a buy-back option on the Turkish defender.
Çetin, 23, joined the Giallorossi last summer and made six appearances during his first season in the Italian capital under manager Paulo Fonseca. Despite the small number of appearances, the Turk managed to impress during his time on the pitch, which included a strong performance in Roma’s victory over Napoli.
