Roma announced today via the club’s official website that attacker Seydou Doumbia has joined Swiss club Basel.
While the figures of the operation were not announced, the operation, reportedly, will cost Basel €2 million for the loan of the player with an option to buy for €6 million:
“AS Roma S.p.A. can confirm that it has reached an agreement with Swiss club FC Basel 1893 for the loan of forward Seydou Doumbia for the duration of the 2016-17 season.
The striker arrived at the club during the winter transfer window in the 2014-15 season, going on to score two goals in 14 games during the remainder of that campaign.
Last season he went on loan to CSKA Moscow, subsequently joining Premier League side Newcastle United for the second half of the campaign.”
