Following compatriot Carles Perez, midfielder Gonzalo Villar has also finalised an exit from Roma.
The 24 year-old has officially joined Sampdoria, sealing his departure from the Italian capital after two and a half years. He’s moving to the Genova-based side on an initial loan deal but the Blucerchiati will have the chance to make the deal permanent for a fee of €8 million.
The midfielder has penned a long-term contract with the club until 2027, ending his Roma tenure with a total of 64 appearances in all competitions.
Like Perez, Villar joined the Giallorossi in January 2020 but encountered problems finding space following the arrival of Jose Mourinho. He left the club in January and spent the second half of last season on loan at Getafe.
However, the Spanish side decided against acquiring Villar permanently, forcing the Spaniard to find a new club.
