Midfielder Houssem Aouar has officially completed a move to Roma.
The capital club announced the signing via their official website.
Aouar, 24, has put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract with the Giallorossi that runs until 30 June 2028.
“I’m very happy to have signed for Roma, because they’re a great club with a great history,” Aouar said.
“I think it’s the right project for me, with a big team, quality players and a unique fanbase. I’m now a Giallorossi player and I’m ready to go.”
Aouar comes from Lyon, where he progressed through the youth academy from the age of 11 until his first-team debut in 2017. He has 179 Ligue 1 appearances, with 30 goals and 24 assists.
He also has 34 games and 5 goals in European competitions, including the Champions League and the Europa League.
Aouar is a young player who’s already made more than 250 professional appearances. He has technical quality and the prerequisites to keep getting better,” said Tiago Pinto, the club’s General Manager.
“His desire to come to Roma, despite having attracted interest from several top clubs, is a source of satisfaction for us all.”
Aouar has opted to wear the No. 22 shirt for the club.
