Official: Pau Lopez joins Roma for €23.5m

Pau Lopez is now officially an AS Roma player. Both the Giallorossi and Real Betis confirmed the passage of the player to Trigoria. Here is the full announcement:

AS Roma announces that it has purchased from the Real Betis Pau Lopez for a fee of €23.5 million. The Spaniard has signed a contract until 30 June 2024.

“It’s almost impossible to say no to a club like Roma,” said the class of 1994 goalkeeper. “This represents an important step forward in my career. I am happy with the trust placed in me by this great club: I feel ready to face this new challenge”.

“I am very satisfied with the arrival of Pau Lopez in the team,” said Roma sporting director Petrachi. “Despite being a very young guy, he still has a 100 appearances in an extremely competitive league like La Liga. I am convinced that he will be able to do well with us and grow a lot thanks to the staff of Mr. Fonseca”.
