Official: Ponce joins Spartak

Ezequiel Ponce has officially left Roma and joined Spartak Moscow. The Argentine has signed a long-term contract with the Russian side as he departs Trigoria after having joined in 2015. The rumored fee for the attacker is €8 million. Newell’s Old Boys, the former club of Ponce, are owed 40% of the transfer fee, giving Roma €4.8 million. There is some confusion as to whether Newell’s are owed 40% of the total fee or 40% of the excess fee above €4.2 million. Argentine sources, however, have confirmed to RomaPress it is the total fee.
