Saud Abdulhamid is officially leaving Roma to continue his career in France.
The Saudi full-back, who arrived in the capital in the summer of 2024 from Al Hilal for approximately €2.5 million plus bonuses, has been sold permanently to Lens.
After a successful season in Ligue 1, the French club has decided to exercise the option to buy included in the agreement signed with the Giallorossi.
The deal brings Roma €3.5 million, in addition to the €500,000 already received from the loan. The transfer was announced by the Roman club itself in an official statement: “AS Roma announces the permanent sale of Saud Abdulhamid to Lens. The French club has exercised the option to buy the Saudi player. Signed by Roma in the summer of 2024, he made eight appearances and scored one goal for the Giallorossi. Good luck, Saud!”
For Roma, this is also a positive move financially. The sale of the Arab full-back generates an estimated capital gain of around €2 million, contributing to the club’s balance sheet ahead of the new season.
