Lega Serie A sporting judge Gerardo Mastrandrea has officially awarded a 3-0 victory to Hellas Verona over Roma.
The decision was handed down this afternoon after it was determined that Roma made an error in their official team list, which was submitted to the Lega Serie A.
Amadou Diawara, who turned 23 in July, was mistakenly added to the Under-22 portion of the Giallorossi’s team list, which means he was not eligible to be fielded in last weekend’s clash due to the error.
The embarrassing oversight by the Giallorossi will now cost them the point they earned in last weekend’s 0-0 draw in Veneto.
The club’s general secretary, Pantaleo Longo, has already submitted his resignation to Roma due to the error.
