Ola Solbakken discusses decision to join Roma

Latest Roma signing Ola Solbakken was introduced earlier today via the club’s official website. The Norwegian attacker – who will officially join Mourinho’s men in January – gave his first interview, detailing his decision to sign a long-term deal with the Giallorossi.

“It’s a fantastic feeling to be here. I really wanted to come and pushed hard to get the deal done,” Solbakken told the club.

“Roma are a fantastic team with a great coach. I have spoken to many people within the club who have left me with a great feeling. I strongly believe in the club’s project and I wanted to be part of it.”

“I had the opportunity to talk with Mourinho,” he said. “It was a very nice chat.”

“I can’t wait to get started. I played twice against Roma in Italy, and I felt something special in the warmth of the fans and I can’t wait to wear the Roma shirt at Stadio Olimpico.”

“The fans? They are incredible. They were the best I’ve faced with Bodø/Glimt in Europe last season. They are crazy!”

“I’m really happy to be one of the group. They also made themselves heard on social media. It was very nice. I felt they wanted me. I felt wanted and this made me choose Roma.”

“There are great players on this team and I’ll have to fight to play and be patient, but also humble and hungry to show the best of me and put it at the service of the team.”

“All players want to play as much as possible, I have to think step by step and Roma is already a big step for me. I want to play and I’m very motivated.”
