The reason behind Ola Solbakken’s non-existent playing time during his loan in Japan for Urawa Reds has been revealed.
After a difficult year in Italy with Roma and a failed temporary spell at Olympiakos, the Norwegian attacker was intent on turning things around as he completed a surprise January move to Japan until the end of the season.
However, things have not gone as expected and Solbakken is yet to play a single minute for his new club.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the reason behind this is Solbakken’s chronic knee injury which has affected him for the past few months and continues to be a problem in training.
The ex-Bodo/Glimt man has been limited to personalized training and sessions of physiotherapy – his morale is said to be at an all-time low as he prepares to return to Roma, awaiting to find out what the future holds for him.
