That is why Solbakken penned a farewell message on his Instagram, thanking his former side for the years spent together, hinting at an imminent switch to Jose Mourinho’s team.

“First of all, I want to say thank you. It’s sad to think that my time at Bodo/Glimt is coming to an end,” he wrote.

“I have lots of memories from our adventure in Europe last season, two championships and all the wonderful people I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”

“I want to thank from the bottom of my heart all the players, coaches and fans who contributed to making this adventure possible. It’s been a fantastic ride.”
