Roma president James Pallotta and Rome mayor Virginia Raggi met this afternoon at the Campidoglio to discuss a variety of topics, including the Stadio della Roma.
After meeting, the pair spoke to present media members, here are their words:
Raggi: “We thank President James Pallotta, who after his dive yesterday, decided to make a generous gesture towards the city and wants to donate €230,000 to restore the fountain of the Pantheon. I can say that it’s a beautiful gesture, so I thank you for this. As for the stadium, we are proceeding with the schedule and remember that with this project, it is €800 million worth of foreign investment coming to the city of Rome. It is a great opportunity to relaunch the economy of Rome and the country. We are going forward with tight deadlines and we will make it happen.”
Pallotta: “I thank the mayor for the fine (for jumping in the fountain), it is deserved (laughs). To show that I do not want to encourage similar gestures, I will make a donation of €230,000, which the mayor stated will restore the fountain of the Pantheon. I love this city! Barcelona? The team played an incredible match for 94 minutes. I do not really care about the next opponent, I think that as we showed yesterday, we can play against anyone, we will see who we will draw on Friday, we can not wait to play the next two matches and I think it’s like that for everyone in Rome. The manager? I think that with Di Francesco, the team has sometimes had ups and downs, I also think that the team must realise that when they play the way they did yesterday, we can play with anyone. Dzeko was the man of the match, much of what he did was also thanks to players like Schick, who controlled the ball and allowed him to play one on one. See you in a couple of weeks, until next time!”
