Pallotta set to reject Friedkin’s latest offer

RomaPress – It’s a deal that was all done in March, but now it remains to be seen what The Friedkin Group’s next move will be.

Within the last few days, the Houston-based consortium relaunched their attempts to acquire AS Roma by proposing a new offer to current president James Pallotta.

The Bostonian, though, has no intention of accepting the latest proposal of Friedkin — which he claims is similar to the offer from May and not the reported nearly €500 million that RomaPress reported yesterday.

Other outlets such Il Messaggero, Corriere dello Sport, and Corriere della Sera reported that the new offer was worth €490 million, but Pallotta has reiterated even that figure is inflated compared to the actual offer.

What Friedkin does next remains a mystery. It’s possible that they wait — especially given that they are the only concrete option at the moment for Pallotta, who will be responsible for funding an additional €40 million in capital before 31 December if he opts not to sell.
