Palmeiras’ coach: “There is no point in talking about Viña.”

After benching Matías Viña and playing him only in the final quarter of the 3-0 win against Atlético Goianiense, Palmeiras’ coach Abel Ferreira was asked about the left-back’s rumored move to Roma to which he replied:

“I told the management what the priorities should be. It’s clear that none of us want to talk about it anymore. The team as a whole is doing a wonderful job. There is no point in talking about Viña to Roma right now. It’s utterly pointless.”

The Uruguayan left-back is close to Roma, who are offering €10 million + €2.5 in add-ons. The Brazilian side want €15 million and the deal could be completed by the end of this week, as reported by Sky Sport.
