Former Lazio attacker Paolo Di Canio went out of his way to criticize Roma’s recent draw at the Juventus Stadium, claiming that the Giallorossi lack identity under manager Jose Mourinho and, as a result, struggled against an undermanned Juventus team.
“When it comes to Roma we always tend to hear that ‘they’ve shown glimpses of something’ or we tend to talk about their mentality,” Di Canio said on Sky Sport. “But we’re talking about Roma who have made important investments and are still making them.”
“The difference is that on Saturday Roma played with all their starters, whereas Juventus were missing 5-6 players.”
“We always talk about mentality, but Mourinho knows that the performance they gave on Saturday was bad. Roma were in a much better position than Juventus and they still played that bad?”
“It’s been a year since Mourinho first joined Roma and we still have yet to see a clear identity. They have no identity. We always only talk about mentality and character.”
