Parma beat Roma 2-0, Fonseca: “We can’t continue to concede goals like this.”

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca wasn’t willing to give excuses following his team’s horrific 2-0 loss to 19th placed Parma.

The Giallorossi didn’t manage to score a single goal against the league’s worst defence and were dealt a massive blow in their top four ambitions.

“We can’t concede goals the way we did. Parma needed three points and they got them,” Fonseca said to DAZN.

“We had problems creating anything because they stayed compact after their goal. I don’t want to make excuses and blame it on fatigue. Parma scored the opening goal on their first trip into our final third. A team who wants to go to the Champions League cannot have moments like this.”

He continued, “It’s not an individual problem when it came to our lack of goals. We didn’t give our attackers much service, Dzeko worked very hard today, he wasn’t the problem.”
