Roma goalkeeper Pau Lopez was interviewed today by Sky Sport and discussed his first weeks with the Giallorossi. These are his words:
“I prefer not to talk about objectives at the start of the season. Roma is a historic club and it’s only right to be ambitious – we need to finish as high up in the table as possible. The first goal is to win the first league match (against Genoa) and to continue day after day. It is good to have long-term goals to create a certain environment among the supporters and then try to have a good season for everyone because a club of Roma’s size and history merits a good finish in the table”.
“I’m working very specific things with Savorani, especially on my technique – I still have a lot to improve because I’m starting to learn what it’s like to work here. I am focused on improving myself and helping the team. The goalkeeper must adapt to what the manager wants, for the good of the team, and develop the game that the manager wants. That’s what I’m trying to do, I’m working on this to always be in the best position to help my teammates”.
