Pau Lopez salutes Gianluca Gombar after the Team Manager is sacked by Roma

Roma goalkeeper, Pau Lopez, took to his official Instagram today to bid farewell to Gianluca Gombar, the club’s now former Team Manager.

Gombar was sacked just hours ago by the Giallorossi following his gaffe in yesterday’s Coppa Italia match against Spezia. He was one of the individuals at fault for Roma mistakenly using an extra substitute in the match — which would have led to an automatic defeat had the team managed to overturn the result.

All of us who know you know how well you did your job and how many hours you dedicated to it,” wrote the Spaniard.

“Thank you for everything you have done for me and my family since we arrived in Rome.”

He concluded, “I will miss you a lot, my friend. Nobody will do better than you!”
