Pau Lopez still suffering from wrist injury, Mirante likely to start against Samp

Roma are less than two weeks from resuming their Serie A campaign as they will host Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico.

The Giallorossi, though, will likely enter the encounter without their first choice goalkeeper at their disposal.

Sky Sport reports that Pau Lopez is still suffering from the fractured wrist he sustained during the second day of last month’s resumption of training.

The Giallorossi don’t want to rush the Spaniard back into action and run the risk of re-aggravating the injury so backup goalkeeper Antonio Mirante will get the start against Claudio Ranieri’s side.

This is the second injury of the season for the former Real Betis man, who suffered a muscular injury in his leg in early December.
