Pau Lopez, Villar, Pérez, and Borja Mayoral all expected to start in Thursday’s Europa League tie

Roma will fly to Switzerland tomorrow for Thursday’s Europa League showdown in Bern against Young Boys.

The match will mark the Giallorossi’s first European fixture of their campaign as manager Paulo Fonseca is considering using heavy rotation in his team selection.

Il Messaggero reports that the first change that the Portuguese coach will undoubtedly make is bringing Pau Lopez back into the fold. The Spanish shot-stopper, whom Roma spent a whopping €23.5 million on last season, has lost his place to Antonio Mirante this season but will have a chance to redeem himself.

Like in their match against Benevento, Fonseca is expected to use a 4-2-3-1 formation with Ibañez and Marash Kumbulla in the center of defence as Gianluca Mancini will be unavailable due to suspension.

Meanwhile, Spanish trio Gonzalo Villar, Carles Pérez, and Borja Mayoral are also expected to be inserted into the Giallorossi’s starting eleven.
