Paulo Dybala discusses his time at Roma, working with Mourinho and more

Andy Mattioli

Roma forward Paulo Dybala recently discussed his impressions from his stay in the capital and working with Jose Mourinho.

In an interview with DAZN as reported in today’s edition of La Repubblica, the Argentine international spoke about a variety of topics including following in Francesco Totti’s footsteps, Roma and their supporters as well as Mourinho’s backing.

“The people here are incredible. From day one they made me feel this incredible warmth. When Tiago Pinto contacted us and the possibility of coming to Rome arose, I said to myself “I have to do something in this city.”

“The shirt number? Roma’s number 10 will always be Francesco Totti. At Juventus, the club asked me to wear the 10 and it was a huge pleasure. Never say never, obviously that would be a unique responsibility.”

“Josè Mourinho has an image and an important influence due to everything he represents in the world of football. He would be a good chess player,” said Dybala.

“Before arriving here, we spoke twice, he called me when I was still in Turin. I felt a special feeling with him, it’s difficult in the world of football to find someone who says things to you in a sincere way.”

“I have a direct relationship with him. We both want the best for the fans. He made football history. He is very sincere, he is good at preparing matches. Almost all the things he tells you in advance end up happening.”
