Fresh off signing his Roma contract, Paulo Dybala released his first club interview addressing several topics including his ambitions, expectations, the possibility of working with Mourinho and more.
“Mourinho’s phone calls thrilled me, we spoke for a long time. We had a good chat. Now I get to work with one of the greatest coaches of all time,” Dybala said of the Special One.
“Roma are a very international club. Even before coming to Italy I knew it because of all the players who wore this shirt.”
“The club is serious about their work. The trophy they won last year was a testament to the work they are doing.”
“I am very passionate about Rome as a city. As a child, I saw a lot of movies about it. I think it was destiny that brought me here.”
After much speculation, Dybala selected the number 21 for his jersey. When asked about this, the Argentine international replied, “I spoke to Tiago Pinto about it. He had proposed the 10 which is very important here given all that Totti has done.”
“I think that number and that shirt must still belong to him for what he did. I thanked both of them, but to wear a shirt like this you need to have a lot of respect and responsibility. One day maybe I will be able to wear it.”
